Ruth 4

Impressed by Boaz who is so 'man'!  Action with a good heart!

He asked if the one being the first redeemer rights would buy the plots of land Naomi was selling. But in the meantime, he had to marry Ruth and to continue the family line of the deceased. If that man gave up his rights and responsibility, Boaz himself was going to shoulder up!

Then Boaz added, “You realize, don’t you, that when you buy the field from Naomi, you also get Ruth the Moabite, the widow of our dead relative, along with the redeemer responsibility to have children with her to carry on the family inheritance.” (Ruth 4:5 MSG)

Yes. This is a man who is ready to protect a woman of good reputation and pure heart. Just be a woman pleasing God...putting His words in action. My Lord protects and provides. Thank God for giving an awesome dyad to see how a relationship builds especially the intimate family relationship.

Ruth 3b

On the other side of relationship between Naomi and Ruth: Ruth really follows what told. Is she naive and seldom thinks?

清心的人有福了! 因為他們必得見神。 (馬太福音 5:8 CUNP-神)

“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world. (Matthew 5:8 MSG)

Ruth has God in her inner most heart. Do whatever told by Naomi as following some simple rule. But she makes decision with full conviction.  She told Naomi when being asked to leave... She said, “Don’t force me to leave you; don’t make me go home. Where you go, I go; and where you live, I’ll live. Your people are my people, your God is my god; where you die, I’ll die, and that’s where I’ll be buried, so help me God —not even death itself is going to come between us!” (Ruth 1:16, 17 MSG)

Full conviction! She made the choice - to keep her mother-in-law company. She doesn't want her to be alone.

Now she made a decision again with full faith. She said to Naomi, “If you say so, I’ll do it, just as you’ve told me.” She went down to the threshing floor and put her mother-in-law’s plan into action. (Ruth 3:5, 6 MSG)

She slept at Boaz's foot that night.  Out of shock, Boaz said, “And who are you?” She said, “I am Ruth, your maiden; take me under your protecting wing. You’re my close relative, you know, in the circle of covenant redeemers—you do have the right to marry me.” (Ruth 3:9 MSG) When found, she told him as told.

Boaz protected her and not committed any adultery. He told her to sleep and go home but wait for...his answer.
Ruth slept at his feet until dawn, but she got up while it was still dark and wouldn’t be recognized. Then Boaz said to himself, “No one must know that Ruth came to the threshing floor.” (Ruth 3:14 MSG)

Ruth aired what her needs with guts. She is really bold. Proposed to a man!

Then she went home with some barley. Blessed she went home safe told every word to Naomi. Naomi comforted her and  said, “Sit back and relax, my dear daughter, until we find out how things turn out; that man isn’t going to fool around. Mark my words, he’s going to get everything wrapped up today.” (Ruth 3:18 MSG)

Good job and we'll done!

Ruth 3a

Life is perhaps hard. But to Naomi and Ruth, it is always promising. Naomi is always proactive and adventurous. She has a new insight to the future and plans ahead, it must be God-given strength to help her overcome difficulties.

One day her mother-in-law Naomi said to Ruth, “My dear daughter, isn’t it about time I arranged a good home for you so you can have a happy life? And isn’t Boaz our close relative, the one with whose young women you’ve been working? Maybe it’s time to make our move. Tonight is the night of Boaz’s barley harvest at the threshing floor. (Ruth 3:1, 2 MSG)

“Take a bath. Put on some perfume. Get all dressed up and go to the threshing floor. But don’t let him know you’re there until the party is well under way and he’s had plenty of food and drink. When you see him slipping off to sleep, watch where he lies down and then go there. Lie at his feet to let him know that you are available to him for marriage. Then wait and see what he says. He’ll tell you what to do.” (Ruth 3:3, 4 MSG)

Out of love, she gives instructions to Ruth step by step.

In return, Ruth did what Naomi without any hesitation. What a blessing to have someone you can trust wholly whom will care for you by all means!!  Future are not us to tell but this Naomi's love towards Ruth that tends to give her future-a promising future.

What am I coaching my girls?  Am I really doing?  How do I teach my girls? Will I have a simple faith to rely on Him who will provide and protect, I just air what I think in my mind.

They may take my advice or may not. It is out of my scope of influence.

What I can learn from this?
